Grief is experienced by all of us, and at multiple times throughout our lives. Grief does not only come in the form of suffering after the recent death of a loved one. Whether you’re anticipating a death or it’s been years since they died. Perhaps you’ve lost a job, a community, identity, or family support. Often times we grieve more than we realize. Our monthly Grief Circles are about holding space for you to be seen & heard in your grief. Many of our art-based workshops offer different ways to express the roller coaster of emotions that grief makes us ride.

Sarah is a Master Reiki Practitioner and offers her services as an energy conduit for you to tap into your own healing. Individual sessions may include the use of crystals, singing bowls, chimes, hands on or off the body, incense and more.

What can you expect at a Reiki session?
Clients are invited to relax on a low massage table (alternatively, you could sit in a chair). With eyes closed, and guided breathing, you will settle your entire body from head to toe. Each session is intuitively guided by that moment, so each session may have a slightly different focus (on a particular area of the body). Generally, clients experience a very relaxing state, some even doze off. At a minimum, you are likely to experience a nervous system reset to a state of greater calm. Some clients may experience temperature fluctuations, tingling, slight tightening & then releasing, a heavy weight growing lighter or any number of sensations.

You have questions, fears, worries, requests & more that need tending at the end of life. Let the presence of a Death Doula be a part of your plan. Offering a range of services, for the dying and their loved ones, including: sitting vigil, non-medical comfort care, death education, & bereavement support.

What IS a Death Doula?
A Death Doula's greatest gift is that of presence, a willingness to be with you & your loved ones during the most difficult time. They offer reassurance, answering questions throughout the dying process. They facilitate the hard conversations between loved ones and help the dying navigate their own fears, regrets, or any number of feelings that come up. Death Doulas can offer ideas on comfort care, helping to ensure the space, the visitors, and vigil time are aligned with the desires of the dying individual. Death Doulas are a unique combination of educator, advocate, spiritual support, & personal organizer, all from a deeply compassionate heart.

What is NOT a Death Doula?
Death Doulas are not personal caregivers or medically trained professionals. They can not assist with medications, procedures, certain aspects of daily living (eg. bathing, dressing, cleaning soiled bedding) or conduct some elements of funeral arrangements.
